Dr. Arvind Kumar Lal is working as Professor in the School of Mathematics, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, since 2017. He received his Master"s Degree (M.Sc.) in Mathematics from Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, in 1987 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from University of Roorkee (presently IIT Roorkee) in 1995. Before joining Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology in January 1996, he has also worked as Lecturer in Mathematics in the Technological Institute of Textile and Science, Bhiwani from January 1994 to March 1995. He has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses for more than 25 years at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He has supervised ten Ph.D. and eighteen M.Sc. students. He has published 64 research papers in the referred journals (30in SCI, 27 in Non-SCI and 07 in conference proceedings), completed five research projects and one is ongoing. He serves as Principal Investigator in all the projects. He also served as a Head, School of Mathematics, T. I. E. T, Patiala from 11.05.2015 to 15.06.2018 in addition to other administrative responsibility outside and inside of TIET, Patiala.
