Dr. Vikas Sharma is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, where he has been serving since 2009. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematical Programming from Panjab University, Chandigarh in 2012. His research focuses on optimization theory and mathematical programming, with particular emphasis on linear and nonlinear optimization, integer programming, financial mathematics, and portfolio optimization. His recent research work involves the development of algorithms for solving multiobjective quadratic integer programming problems, as well as methods for solving quadratic and nonlinear optimization problems over the efficient set of multiobjective optimization problems. He is also interested in developing AI-based models and computational approaches for portfolio optimization and financial decision-making, integrating optimization techniques with modern data-driven methodologies.
